Work of Bart Lunenburg is part of the exhibition NIEUW WERK at Buitenplaats Doornburgh. Together with Kunsthal KadE in Amersfoort, Lunenburg was selected for a residency period at Buitenplaats Doornburgh in the context of the exhibition BAKSTEEN, which takes place simultaneously at Kunsthal KAdE.

In the spring of 2022 Bart did his research at Doornburgh. During the residency, he immersed himself in the architecture of the former monastery. Bart connects the traditions of brick construction with the traditions of textile history, in particular of weaving. This against the background of the Dom Hans van der Laan’s architecture and his theory of proportions.

For the presentation at Doornburgh, Bart makes site-specific works in the double cloister of the former monastery, his drawings and several sculptures of both wood and brick are also on display.
