Shortly after U. was born, U. started taking pictures. These photos are characterized by a frog’s perspective – logical because you mainly lay on your back. This is what is told in the first chapter of The Universal Photographer, a book about the remarkable life and oeuvre of the universal photographer U. (1955-2016).

The Universal Photographer is an exhibition and eponymous publication by the artists Anne Geene & Arjan de Nooy, whose pseudoscientific and humorous work allows the public to look at the world in a new way. They present The Universal Photographer in exhibition form in the projects room of Gemeentemuseum Den Haag (Kunstmuseum Den Haag).
