Anne Geene at the Rijksmuseum
Group exhibition New Horizons
On view from 29 June until 3 September, 2023
Right up to the 1970s, many photographers saw black and white as the standard, and had no interest in colour photography. Fifty years later, that picture has changed dramatically. ‘New Horizons’ presents a crucial turning point in the history of photography. Colour has suffused every area of photography today – it’s hard now to imagine it being any other way. The Rijksmuseum showcases highlights of modern colour photography, with work by a.o. Viviane Sassen, Anne Geene, Michael Wolf, Pieter Hugo, Ruud van Empel and others.
